If you work and you are younger than the AOV age, you are entitled to the statutory minimum wage, your employer may not pay you less, but more. The amounts determined are gross amounts, the employer is obliged to withhold any wage tax and premiums from this.
Much of this legislation has been placed under the national ordinance for minimum wages. A national ordinance is a law adopted by the government and parliament together. Before a national ordinance can be adopted, the government must seek advice on the proposal from the Advisory Council. A national ordinance therefore has the same force as a law.
